And once you take help of local agencies they do not issue permits unless you hire a guide from their cause it will be their responsibility to look after us, as permits will be issued on their name.   • You don’t need TIMS card but need to pay for Kanchenjunga Conservation area project permit directly there in check-post at trekking trail.

  • Off course do not forget to get good sleeping bag and insulating mat which are the most necessary for accommodation in tent, do not compromise in quality as it will be high alpine and might be cold too sometime extremely.
  • Carry enough sneakers and energy bars, I repeat enough quantity.
  • Carry some dry soup powders which you can let hotel owner to cook on behalf of you for some extra money, as drinking hot soup especially after dinner helps you a lot.
  • Do not forget to carry sugar cubes and coffee powder, if possible carry tea bags too cause they are not available in high alpine area of Kanchenjunga otherwise you will be depending on salt butter tea which you might not like taste wise.
  • If possible takes jam, honey or peanuts butter as per taste cause all you get during your breakfast in morning is chapatti (Indian style dry bread) with salts and at that jam, honey helps you a lot to eat such food which you are really not used to with.
  • Carry some ginger and garlic with you, try to get some fresh as they helps you a lot, really a lot in high alpine area where possible mountain sickness are about to arises.
  • Do not forget to carry insect repelling spray who knows you might need to sleep of shed next to yak dung full of moths an flies.
  • Other basic thing you can figure out yourself like toothbrush, paste multipurpose soaps, hand sanitizers etc.
  • Drink adequate water as they will not harm you, but do not drink direct tap water carry some water purifier tablets with you.
  • Walking poles might be useful especially during steep ups and down.
  • Do not forget to carry some plastic rolls to save your luggage with unexpected rainfall as well as rain cover for your body too.
  • Update about your health condition with guides every day, and get some good health insurance before kicking off Kanchenjunga Trek.
