Jervis Bay : A Gem On Australia’s East Coast

I recently had the pleasure to visit Jervis Bay – on Australia’s east coast.  The place (pronounced like ‘Jarvis’ by the locals) is truly a wonder of nature.   There are crystal clear turquoise waters and golden beaches with white sand – famous for being so fine it ‘squeaks’ as you walk along.  We did a few activities there like Sailing and Kayaking, but probably the highlight was the accommodation.  You can stay in Huskisson, Vincentia or around St.Georges Basin and Sanctuary Point.   There are cottages and beach-houses mostly – it’s recommended to try the more ‘down to earth’ types of accommodation to go with the laid back beach style of the town. There are actually not that many hotels or resorts to choose from .  It can be tough to find accommodation in Jervis as it’s a very popular spot. This website has a pretty comprehensive list of hotels and accommodation around Jervis Bay – and lets you search all the major booking sites for the best price (like a price comparison).

I would definitely encourage just about anyone to go and visit this amazing place Jervis Bay.  The towns along the way from Sydney are also great and not to be missed if you are coming by road.  From Woolongong through to Kiama the coastline is really amazing.  If you get  a chance you should also try heading up and seeing some of the other attractions in NSW such as the hunter valley and blue mountains – but they will have to be another trip as they are on the north coast of NSW.
